James was born in Charlton in 1979, where he has lived ever since.He earned a first class psychology degree from the University of London and has worked in an eating disorders clinic. He currently works in Goldsmiths College library.
James is an active member of Greenwich Conservatives and forms one-third of the Conservatives' Charlton Action team along with Richard Shackleton and Louis McLean-Wait.
